How the Sign-Up Works
When you sign up for UserLens, what you can access depends on two things:
- Whether you use a work email or personal email
- Whether you're the first person from your company to sign up

π§ Ask a colleague to invite you
to their team
Why can't I see anything? Projects belong to teams. You need a team invitation to see projects.
What to do:
- Ask a colleague who uses UserLens
- They go to Team Settings β Members β Invite
- You'll get an email with a link to join
π§ Personal emailβ
You sign in with a personal email (e.g., you@gmail.com)

π Invite others to collaborate
Important: ALL personal email accounts get their own separate, isolated organizationβthis includes:
- @gmail.com
- @outlook.com
- @hotmail.com
- @live.com
- @yahoo.com
- Any other personal email
Even two people with @outlook.com addresses are in different organizations and cannot see each other's projects until one invites the other to a team.
Personal email users: How to collaborateβ
If you and a colleague both signed up with personal emails (even the same provider like @outlook.com), you're in separate organizations by default.

Common questionsβ
"I just signed up but I can't see any projects!"β
Your colleagues are probably in a team you haven't joined yet.
Solution: Ask a colleague to invite you:
- They go to Teams β select their team
- Click Settings β Members
- Click Invite Member and enter your email
- Check your email for the invitation link
"My colleague and I both signed up but we can't see each other's projects"β
This happens when:
- You're both in the organization but in different teams, OR
- You both used personal emails (each person gets a separate organization)
Solution:
- If same company (work emails): Join the same team via invitation
- If personal emails: One person invites the other to their team
"We both use @outlook.com (or @gmail.com) - why can't we see each other's work?"β
Personal email accounts are always isolated, regardless of the email provider. Even if you both use @outlook.com, you're in completely separate organizations.
Solution: One person invites the other:
- Go to your team's Settings β Members
- Click Invite Member
- Enter their email
- They accept, and now you can collaborate!
"Can I collaborate with someone from another company?"β
Yes! Invite them to your team:
- Go to your team's Settings β Members
- Click Invite Member
- Enter their email (any email works)
- They'll join your team when they accept
Note: They remain in their own organization but gain access to your team.
